There's something wrong with being able to shut it off via remote though. I mean from a legal viewpoint. Can see how something like that would be... problematic. Any lawyers around these parts?

The same goes for remote trunk openers, my dad had a car with one of those a long while ago and it disabled while the key was in the ignition. Can just imagine driving along and you accidentally hit the button and the trunk pops open on the highway.
That reminds me of something I heard a long, long time ago...
I heard that remote cat disablers were in the works for police use. As far as I know, I've never heard of anything actually being used along those lines. Something like that would have to come as a feature installed with the car direct from the manufacturer though, I guess...
