Keyword: Usually :)

There's something wrong with being able to shut it off via remote though. I mean from a legal viewpoint. Can see how something like that would be... problematic. Any lawyers around these parts? :)

I can see numerous severe safety concerns regarding the ability for the remote starter to be used while the key is in the ignition. The accidental press of the off button while trying to cross an intersection heh.

The same goes for remote trunk openers, my dad had a car with one of those a long while ago and it disabled while the key was in the ignition. Can just imagine driving along and you accidentally hit the button and the trunk pops open on the highway.

That reminds me of something I heard a long, long time ago...

I heard that remote cat disablers were in the works for police use. As far as I know, I've never heard of anything actually being used along those lines. Something like that would have to come as a feature installed with the car direct from the manufacturer though, I guess...

Boy now this thread is going to change...........
FBI, satalites, on star,.........
A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week. A pint of sweat, saves a gallon of blood. No poor bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making other bastards die for their country.

Yeah, thread hijackings on this board are quite unique. Here they turn into debate/conspiracy theory. In other places they eventually lead back to, erm... Maybe I shouldn't say it...
