Neo's SCTF server - connection problems

Post by FoxMulder »

Hi Folks,

Fox's in town for a few weeks and I tried to connect to Neo's server - but I always get stuck after "connection accepted", it just keeps on hanging there. And that's not only for my Mac client, but also for a Win machine with a freshly downloaded Proquake client, last version, and also from various different networks. On the other hand, no problem connecting to my own server back home, which also runs Proquake.

So I wonder: how the heck is this supposed to work ? I would, tentatively, guess that a server that is easier to connect would also be more frequented....

Hi Fox, I am able to connect. I have only seen this
problem of getting stuck after connection accepted
when using a client other than proquake. I am using
glpro 3.50.

I have had the same problem, many times... but just reinstalling quake 1 via clean install via cd, or other such media...and then installing glpro over it, seemed to fix the problem...

His server is weird, it only will let you connect if you have the same executable...

There's a zip file with it floating around here someplace, but I can't seem to find it on my machine.
