Back from hike

Post by warf »

Here are a couple of pic to start.

Had a great time. More rain this time in NM, Monsoon season, they claim.

Highlight was Baldy Mt at 12,441 feet.

This is my son and I on Hart Peak at around 8,000 feet. You can see Baldy in the background.

This is the whole crew at a meadow below Baldy, which we would hike the next day.

Me (in the middle) and two of the other dads atop Baldy. It was a tough walk up, and at one point about 500 feet below the summit, I was about ready to give up.

Here is the trail up. Started at 8800 feet of elevation that morning up to 12,441 in 4.5 miles

Can't you feel our souls ignite
Shedding ever changing colours,
in the darkness of the fading night,
Like the river joins the ocean,
as the germ in a seed grows
We have finally been freed to get back home.

looks like a long hike for sure!
I've been considering taking a backpack trip in the Golden Trout Wilderness for a few days of fly fishing.
Though me never backpacking anyplace for more than an overnighter, I haven't really got a clue what all gear I'm going to be needing.
I guess that is one advantage to being so close to Los Angeles though, there's a huge sports store within 5 miles of everything it seems.

So I gotta ask...
How much weight did you take off on this trip?
