I never thought the LCD screen on my keyboard would be useful, but I love it...
Actually they use the second screen in the DS for some pretty cool features.
And theyre touch screens too I believe which adds to the fun. Peek at the DS next time you're in a games store if they have any available for demo-play, theyre neat little things.

I OWN A DS, AND I LOVE IT!!
Yeah, the top screen is simply a screen, the bottom screen is a touch screen, so you can do cool stuff like click and drag, point and click, draw, write, move, aim, it's awesome!! My favorite game so far for it has been this game called Lost Magic, where you're a magician and you cast spells by drawing the runes on the screen of the spells you want to cast, and here's the crazy part:
6 elements, 3 levels of runes = 18 differend runes
These runes can then be used individually to cast spells, paired to cast bigger spells, or even trippled to cast even bigger spells
In all: 396 different spells!! That's a lot of rune drawing!
Quake should be pretty cool, though playing a FPS on the DS is very tricky. Playing Metroid Hunters is almost a nightmare because you can aim in one of two ways: using the stylus the look around, or using just the two pads on the left and right to do it... and when you play online... things get disastrous!! I don't know how they play so well with a stylus on that screen... while still being able to push ever other button on the DS!!
Still, Quake should be a nice addition

I don't want to bash the PSP, but it flopped. Sony pushed a high-end with an equally high-end price product into the market hoping to create a buzz. The only buzz they created was from the consumers walking past it to mumbling about the price. The UMD's failed. They were as expensive or more expensive than their DVD counterparts. UMD's are 1/4 of the quality and size, and should cost 1/4 of the price. But, Sony didn't think so. UMD are also limited to viewing only on the PSP. Which is not good if you're paying full DVD price! Consumers quickly learned that they could just freely rip their DVD's to USB flash memory and watch their movies that way. Price it and the games competitivly against the DS and the PSP would be a killer item.Serpent wrote:i've been wanting to get myself a psp, personally.......b/c the umd disks are kinda cool.......nice and small......but unfortunately hold a lot less data than a normal dvd does.... if they make this (quake) or any other game for that matter.........for a psp, i'll get one........but ds? i still dont see the purpose of the two screens, personally.
Nintendo DS Lite looks cool. But the only game that I'm interested in on it is the BrainAge game! If there were more worthy DS games, I might consider picking one up. I'd still rather have a PSP at a DS price so I could listen to music, watch movies, and also play games...

Note the items about telnet, email and web surfing via wireless.
I guess that only a wireless nic is included in the hardware.
Hahahahahaha!!! Yes... It's a low calorie version. Like less filling, taste's great. I'm just glad that Japan is done prefixing things with "Turbo" and "Super"... If we can just get rid of the "Ultra", "Pro" suffixes.TooLBlue wrote:Forgive me for not knowing... but what exactly does the "Lite" part of the Nintendo DS Lite signify? Is it supposed to be diet food? O_o? It just irritates me that the word is thrown in there for no apparent reason. /mental
