BF2 2142

Post by Buzzed »

This may be interesting, I hope that it is not too out of wack though.

A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week. A pint of sweat, saves a gallon of blood. No poor bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making other bastards die for their country.

Theyre making ANOTHER ONE?

talk about hooking up a hose to the customer's wallet...

They fail to do anything innovative or revolutionary with the series, every battlefield game is the same. The only improvement is in the graphics engine, and the only gameplay difference is the locale of the maps.

I won't be buying that one, BF2 is good enough.

Heh?

I keep seeing these new "Battlefield" titles coming out, oh so very often, it's amazing that they have yet to even catch my remote interest. O_o?

Am I missing anything at all? ;)

Theyre good games, but every single one of them is the same -- just a different country that you have to invade :P

The vehicles make it fun. Doom would have been way cool with a hover tank mounting a plasma cannon or BFRG (big, "fat" rail gun.) And then a ton of Arch-Viles to kibble.

I'm just starting with BF2. So far, it's been pretty fun, except for I seem to pick the wrong team. I'll never get rank at this rate. Playing sniper, at least.

Ah, so they're like KOEI's Romance of the Three Kingdom's epic saga of around 10 games, all being the same. Oy....

Sniper is a difficult class to gain rank with, as nothing besides killing people can get you any points.

A class like SpecOps can run around blowing up radars all game long to get points, and just about anyone besides the sniper has the combat ability to take flags for points.

I started as a Medic, dropping health packs and zapping people back to life is worth A LOT of points, and I followed the troops to the flags for the captures too.

the BF games aren't all the same.... matter of fact, my preference is BFV, b/c of the ability to be able to lift vehicles with copters, and the great in-game music... granted both of these are unique to the era and to my knowledge haven't been known in any war/battle since then... the aircraft on all of them are tons of fun.. but so are the small fast vehicles like motorcycles, jet skis, dune buggies, and the like....

The weapons obviously differ from game to game... but come on... you guys all gotta admit, that in BF2142 or whatever that new one is gonna be - the idea of a cloaking device sounds awesome! It makes spawn camping so much more fun and easier... muhahahaha! :D

Cloaking devices, and airlifting vehicles, etc are all just gimicks and dont change the underlying gameplay, which has remained more or less exactly the same since BF1942 :P

I own the whole battlefield series. What do I play for on-line shooters? Joint operations and Operation flashpoint. The BF games are the same gimic over and over.

i like the bf games, but I'm with Red.

Yes they are good games. The point I was trying to make, however, is that they are all the same so whats the point in going out to buy the next one? New maps?

actually, i've been meaning to ask you about that .... know of any way to 'convert' maps from use in one game, over to another? Like...even though it wouldn't fit quite right...I'd like the bfv copters....on bf2 maps, etc..
