I guess if it was meant to be dark, fuzzy and blurry, then it came out great! It looks like 1980's brodcast quality TV. I should know, just got done watching 86 Episodes of the Robotech Protoculture DVD set.

Can you take 2 screen shots? One without the effect, and one with. Then blend back the uneffected player under the enhanced image? I think that might give a nice look that would still accomplish your objective. Keep the gun blurry though! :)
