I am running a GeForce 3 ti 200 on a PIII 1.0 ghz with 512 mb of ram. I have the ability to swap in a Radeon 9700 Pro in the GeForce slot. The card would probably cost me less than 25 bucks. Do you think it is worth it? I know it is a better card, but how much better? It's full potential would prolly be limited by my processor no?

Everyone who knows anything knows that.
I agree with you whole-heartedly, especially after finding this out first hand, unfortunately. Had a nvidia geforce card... same one.. cant remember which one now... but... 3 of those suckers... kept going bad on me... got an ati radeon... and have never had a problem since...
I doubt that KD, seeing as I am running the ATI X800 pro or xt or whatever the hell that last letter grouping is. Oh, and noobis, I hate goats, that is why I kill them

I have the Geforce 6800GT
and I ran it side by side with Rico's X800 when I built his system, his beat mine by about 10-15fps until I disabled my second monitor, then mine was slightly faster...
All on the same spec'd systems nonetheless.
for price point the x800 is better, but speed was better on the 6800GT
