Hacked?!

According to the Guild Log Radbarn logged in at 7AM PST and withdrew the all the contents of the guild bank, save useless items, and also withdrew 190 Gold, which was almost all the was in there - leaving 90 silver.

Was this intentional or was your account hacked?

It looks like his account has been hacked. His password no longer works...It certainly wasnt him that took out the money...he was fast asleep. O.M.G. =P this sucks.

it looks like he was hacked by a gold spammer. the bastards. working on getting things restored and set back the way they were.

Baron's account is now re-secured. The money and items within the guild bank will be replaced, if not through a restoration by Blizzard than by Baron himself. He's stuck at work indefinately...so he wanted me to let you guys know.

My account was compromised this morning.

My lovely wife regained control and locked it back up while I pulled a 15-hour shift at work.

Guild bank will be restocked one way or the other.


I will be a ghost until my service ticket with Blizzard is resolved -- will keep all updated with progress.

This totally sucks! I just happened to logon and went to the bank to grab items to make more frostweave bags. It was all looted! Then I checked the log and noticed it was Redbarn - knowing he would not do that - and resolved it was way early for him to be playing WOW. As for me I was home sick. That's when I made the post.

In my podcast listening antics I've heard of this happening. It's my understanding that Blizzard can restore all the items that were taken, just make a ticket and request restoration, etc.

Please tell us what security protocol could have been compromised, use at another station? Old pass? New program? Do tell!

Unsure how the compromise occured.

No virii or spyware found, multiple scans

Possible I was tired and got phished on a website. Didn't catch a URL typo or something, unsure.


Or it came through curse on ui addons.

Thinking on it more... Whoever is the GM should limit access to people who don't have an authenticator. It wouldn't b to keep you from getting stuff, but to keep the guild from getting raped, and to encourage all to get the extra layer of security

Indeed, they mailed missing money and all the items back, I've since put everything back in, but I did not organize it much, just sort of threw it all in...

K I can't entirely fix it because I can only do 50 slots, but I'll work on it a little. It helps if we keep junk items and vendor mats out of there. (like all of the vials and non buffing foods)

I had sprot remove and vendor a bunch of crap prior to arranging stuff. So don't freak when you see the log.

I did this...

Red tab = items <60 and other useless crap
Green tab = mats, fishing crap, patterns, and other useless crap
Purple = over 9000 guild tabards, items>lvl 60, bags, gems, buff foods, and other useless crap.

redo it how ya want, but as a suggestion, none of the following:
-any food which does not buff, or is not for cooking
-no fishing mats which can be bought
-No vials, thread, o other mats which can be bought.
-no bandages
-no crafted items in bulk (like 1-2 are ok, but we don't need 300 Black Mage weave boots)
-no grey items. none, ever.
-no health/mana pots below level 60 as no one ever uses them.
