Stopping by to say hello,, its been a while
Hey All! It’s been like 4 or 5 years since I last spoke with any of you, maybe even longer and you may not remember me very well. Ill need to see if there is a record of my last log in to be sure.
Any how I been away from gaming for some time and then the other day at work I was browsing youtube and one thing let to an other I ended up watching some quake 2 and half related videos. Brought back some good memories, so I went digging though old boxes in the garage and found my half-life CD's. Installed Half-life and having some fun again ha-ha... I never got to see the game on a good fast PC like the one I use now... sure brings the game back to life for me.
I did a Google search for COTC which brought me here and was surprised to see my user name still was in use, password reset off old email and here I am. I am very surprised to see allot of the old names I remember here on the board.
Anyways allot has changed, I am now 40 with a 4 year old boy. Now live in Murrieta and work in the banking industry "software analyst". I do allot of Road cycling on a Cervelo. The last time I saw or spoke with any of you I believe I was still working for D-Link and living in Escondido....
What game(s) are you all in to now days if any? Is anyone still in to half-life or mods? I was thinking of installing old TFC and dod, for some good fun.
Catch yea later,
RoY

Sorry before my time, but Hello anyways.
Re: Stopping by to say hello,, its been a while
RoY!!
Man, I thought you fell of the face of the planet! lol
Much like you, most of us have gotten extremely quiet around here. Even myself who used to come to this board about 5 times a day is now down to about 2-3 times a month.
It's pretty sad actually...
Anyway, I just hit 30 myself. No kids, about to get married for the second time in Oct and looking to buy my 2nd house as well currently.
I'm now living in Santa Clarita, and working in the San Fernando valley as a systems admin for an entertainment supply company which I've been at since 9/11/01 (yeah, it was a weird day to start a new job!)
Anyway, glad to hear from you!
I think the last I recall of you was at the LAN party at my sister's house!

Yes I remember you as well and the LAN party. I seem to remember driving out to some desert city maybe in riverside county?. Someone from the clan also rode with me but I forgot who it was. I still have some photos some place from that party... I also remember getting pretty fried, Drinking beer and eating lots of pizza that night ha-ha .. The good ole days .... Happy to hear you doing well. I hope you sister is doing good as well. I do remember her and a few others that I met in real life. you know I think I met you all back in 97 or 98 playing quake 2 while I was still in the Air force.

Hi Roy, pretty busy here too! Two kids, son at age 6, and 4 year old daughter. New job (IT Systems Engineer), and Real Life really cutting down time on hobbies and gaming.
Re: Stopping by to say hello,, its been a while
Yeah, she's doing well.
I think you rode out with Chuck A.K.A. Neophyte and the place was Rosamond.
And yeah, I clearly remember getting plastered on pizza and beer that night also, good times indeed!
I wish I could gather enough of us to do it again, but I don't see that happening anytime in the future.

Looky what I just found... oddly without even looking for them!
Re: Stopping by to say hello,, its been a while
Welcome Back Roy!
Still playing Quake2. In my other life, I am
a program writer for a respectable software company.
I have a social security number, pay my taxes, and I...
help my landlady carry out her garbage.
One of these lives has a future, and one of them does not

k, that would make a 2 person LAN... lol
I think a lot of the problem with LAN parties these days is the fact that there are just so many games out there that it's hard to organize enough people with the same taste in them.
Or with enough cash to afford all of them.
And with copy protection being so strict on them, it's not like you could just pass a CD around the room anymore.

I remember those photos and I think I remember bubb as the guy that got me fried that night LOL ...As for the lan party, I might be able to pull it off as well if it ever happens. I still have my quake 2 CD believe it or not... Ill probably install it and give it a try some time soon.... The older games seem refreshing to me at the moment.
