Ok, just finally got around to posting this... I built this system from the ground up mostly using parts from New Egg in November. Akira's post reminded me that it was time to check the dust filters. And, they were dirty! But the inside was nice and clean.
So he're a few pic's of my new beast - spec's are at the bottom:
Dust filters really work!
Side view - Note the dual chambers...
Side view - with air flow indicators. (Green arrows are for ease of reading.)
Read View - note the bottom mounted PSU chamber. (No, its not upside down!)
Front view - door closed - more USB, Firewire, and audio.
Front view - door open - filters are clean now!
Keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers.
So there's the pictures. Now here's what's in side of it:

Re: Neo's new computer (With Pics)
sweeeeeeet!
I'd post pics of my rig, but I've been lazy and havent done much to it since I slapped it together a year ago.
The latest thing I've done to it was to stick a Thermaltake 850watt PSU in it because my poor previous 550watt just couldnt handle my 6 Hard drives and 7800GT. It kept randomly killing my RAID array.
Since I installed it however, I haven't lost my RAID once!

Nice! I like the keyboard! I need a new keyboard soon. I've got an Enermax 650W power supply in, but considering going higher now with the water cooling pump being hooked up.
Re: Neo's new computer (With Pics)
The keyboard isn't that bright in real life. That was about a 4 sec exposure with my camera (not a bad pic for a hand held shot!) so it captured more light that what reality offers. But, for how I use it, I really do like the back light on the keyboard. My PC's near the living room, so I sometimes keep the lights down to give a break to the people watching TV.
My system at idle draws a tiny bit over 200 watts. The majority of my 750 watt power supply is unused, waiting for the day that I get SLI. And the bulk of my power consumed is through that crazy GeForce card. Those things are too power hungry! I've read that they can take up to 168 watts!
KD, those 6 drives is (heh) krazy! Is this the same computer that has all those MP3's? What array configuration do you have them in?

I have 4 250gb drives in a RAID 10 array with my OS and programs on it, and 2 500gb in a RAID 1 array.
Since I've invested well over 15k at this point in photography equipment, I have a TON of RAW images and JPG's that need dual redundancy. Plus, the RAID 10 gives me decent performance for games even though I havent been able to play much at all lately. Speaking of which, I get my new Canon 1d Mark III tomorrow w00t!
My old 550 watt PSU had a power meter on it and never seemed to go above 200watts, but I think the meter was just too slow to show me the spikes it was receiving. Ever unplug a hard drive while its in use and hear the head slam into it's parked position? Thats the sound I was hearing from half of my drives 10-15 times a day.
Ever since the 850watt however, I haven't heard that dreaded sound a single time!
BTW, for a 4 sec hand held exposure to be that sharp is rather impressive!
