Fake shoe laces.

He has fake white show laces that go up to his pants pocket. He pulls those up into his pants as he wiggles his foot and lets the real shoe laces drop out the bottom of his pants. It then make it look like he tied his shoe but quickly wiggling his foot. This trick can't be done in shorts!

I've seen other videos of this done....and wondered how it was done...
