Quake Dreams

Post by Aide-de-Camp »

I had a few seconds tonight and fired up Quake. I ran through the start level of our Sctf Server and I longed for combat. The OD Rune was found quickly, I took a Quad, and started doing spider-man grapples.

These were the days. No other games could compare. It was mutliplayer, it was combative, it was new. When people were online and wanted to play a game, they played Quake. Then, slowly, new games emerged, and diversity closed the concentration on one game.

This got me started though in thinking that perhaps we should have some sort of regular event in Quake/Quake Sctf. We did a 10 year celebration, have had a few other celebrations, but nothing routine and regular. Something like every year, or at any CotC lan party, we get together and everybody plays just Quake for a specified time period.

Just dreaming.

Heh Sepent!! How's the move going?
A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week. A pint of sweat, saves a gallon of blood. No poor bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making other bastards die for their country.
