Yes it is very civil, and no stones yet my fellow clan members, but as past history goes a fleck of snow can turn into an avalanche!

lol data... all you played this week is less than an hour of minesweeper...
Have you ever tried camping in minesweeper? It gives new
meaning to the word patience :)

The worst part is that I was not even playing, that was
Zoddy on the pc while xfire was running.

So basicaly, this whole controversy is over whether Jesus had a wife (and kids) or not, right?

I think it's funny there is so much strife about this book. After all, it is fiction. It is a novel. It's only based on real information.

I think is a cool story.
Ender you are right here it was a good book!! I think the big controversy over this piece of Fiction is that it is yet another piece used by Satan to put blinders on the unknowing? The scripturally illiterate so to speak may fall prey to the falsities mentioned. (such as Jesus having a wife) The scriptures in no way support this. The Bible distinctly states that the Word will remain true till the end of time. As stated earlier I believe that one version of Bible that is holding true to that is the KJV - 1611 version.

This url gives some numbers as to those that end up believing Brown's fictional piece.

These are some good mp3 files discussing the controversies in his book!

For awhile I thought about this idea. One could argue that most
Jewish males of the era were married, that women are rarely
mentioned in any Biblical context unless absolutely necessary,
and that just because the Bible does not speak to a point of fact,
does not mean that the fact is true or untrue. Or one could
argue that he married secretly, as I think Dan Brown does.

However, several things argue against this. Since Jesus's mother
and sisters are explicitly referenced, it seems unlikely that his
wife would not be mentioned, especially during the crucifixion.
A marriage, secret or otherwise is also unlikely considering the
scrutiny under which Jesus was placed during his public mission.
In the final analysis I doubt that many people who actually take
the time to read the sources would take this idea seriously, as
interesting as it may be.

At the end of the movie, the character Langdon does make a comment which that I think does hit the point in a new direction:

"If he were married, would it make any difference? Couldn't he still have preached what he did, and did those same miracles if he was married or not?"

Point taken but that would take away from the Deity or Divinity of Christ. He was perfect hence the reason he was able to go to the Cross for ALL of our sins! 8)

But as Data posted above that if Jesus was married the Bible would state that as there was no problems putting women throughout the books of the Bible.

IMHO, if Jesus was married, he would not be God. In a Father's way of thinking, we are all God's children. And if Jesus is believed to be God on Earth he couldn't morally marry his child.

The Muslims believe that God cannot die as Jesus died on the cross. So if Jesus was married that would lend strength to their belief.

But I digress; the movie is a work of fiction. It's a good story. Very entertaining, and should be considered as such. The same as you would consider Star Trek a glimpse of the future, but still an unlikely future in the entire context of the Trek universe...
