My Impression of CoD2

It's just awesome.... no way to describe it more

And those of you who complained about not having a health bar.... DUH, you don't need one!!!! There's no health in the game, thus no need for a health bar. You just have to duck out of the way and hide when your screen starts to flash red, and you will regenerate back to normal. Seriously... health bar... lol

Besides that, I have yet to discover the shotgun, and the names of a couple guns have changed, but it's still pretty awesome. I'm gonna keep playing single player on hard to see the rest of the game.

shotgun = trench gun ... which every side has (that i have seen)

..and id rather have a health bar so i know how close i am to dying.. the only time i have ever seen red.. i was dead right after..no time to run. yellow is what you need to know about moreso than red.

But... you don't need to know your health... it gives you a red signal when you're about to die, so that you know to duck and hide for a few seconds for the red signal to go away, then you're back to full health... I don't see a need for a health bar, there's no health that you can pick up, and your health is always at 100% unless you've been shot enough for your screen to start glowing red, which is the danger zone signal to hide until it goes away. I think it's a good idea, it does make you play smarter because you can't get shot as many times before you die, so minimizing the shots you take is crucial in a firefight if you want to survive, unless there's adequete spots for you to take cover until you're back to normal.

But hmm.... finished the russian campaign, halfway through the british, all on hard mode.... no shotgun as of yet that I can notice. Just the automatic guns, the big rifles, the faster rifles, the snipers, pistols, nades, the MG42's, and sticky bombs, oh and that panzershreck I found once. I'm so anxious to find one.

And I love sniping in this game, it's so much easier now, and any rifle, whether the single shots or semi-auto rifles, can be a sniper rifle. Is it me or did they change a couple weapons a bit... didn't the Thompson have 30 round clips in CoD1, instead of the now 20 round clips? And can you prime your grenades in this game with the new grenade system they put in?

I also lament on the lack of vehicular manslaughter... you blow a bunch up, but never get a ride...

There are some servers that have mods out already that give you a health bar and u can prime grenades. I miss not being able to prime grenades on most of the servers. Way too much warning if you can't prime the nades. Hopefully this will be rectified globaly.

I agree a health bar is not needed, U see red U duck, plain and simple. If you can get out of the line of fire you return to full health within 5 seconds - not realistic, but niether is any of these games otherwise there would be no one left on the face of the earth. What I don't like - and make use of myself though - is you shoot it out with someone, they duck get full health back, and back to square one. I used to like to camp it out, nail someone, if you don't kill em, stockem whilst thier almost dead and finish them off. Doesn't work in COD2.

I miss the sprint option, although they state you are sprinting, just nice to have a little turbo boost once in a while though.

Last but not least, WHERES THE VEHICLES. It is like a step backwords without them.

YOOOOOOO, there's a tank driving mission in the british campaign, and DAMN!!! They are some really fast tanks, and I mean FAST.

And the american campaign... I love it, all sniping!!

I might take you up on your offer aide, once I get more practice in and get to know what the multiplayer aspect of the game is like with all the mods on servers and whatnot.

Oh yeah.... I'm gonna guess the trench gun is a multiplayer only thing... b/c I have yet to find it, and I'm almost done with single player mode
