BF2 1.03 patch out

Post by warf »

Lotsa good stuff.

My fav is SF now gets points for blowing up other teams gear, ie arty, UAV trailer, and radar.

although that map can be a lot of fun (depending on circumstances), I find that it is very often completely dominated by one team or the other, based almost exclusively on which team has better pilots.

Basically, either the US takes over the Chinese airbase early and steals most of their aircraft then smashes up everything, or the chinese dominate the air so the US can never land with sufficient frequency to take over any flags.

I play it anyways, because I want to learn, but I'm still a terrible-somewhat moderate pilot. I can now fly without smashing myself into the ground/water most of the time, but have no hope of effectively fighting with a gunship.

of course, nobody likes it when you're messing around trying to learn to fly and mostly doing nothing helpful.

BOUT TIME! Always seemed a waste to eject out of a plane, waste the plane, blow up enemy arty and radar sites and not get anything for it.

I love planes and copters, hehe, did I ever say that before??? :D

hey redbaron, ggs last night. you're pretty good at bf2. I'm just a lowly lance corporal, but I guess that's not too bad for 1 week of practise?

still can't fly to save my life.

Also, the ranks require less points now. Unlocked Barrett Sniper, DAO, and the jackhammer.

The sniper rifle is pretty good. I haven't lked playing sniper class, but now I do.

They obviously changed the points for advancement, I see you are staff sargent now. I was lance corporal and recieved 2 advancements in one game bringing be to staff sargent now as well.

Sniper works better, also the advance unlocked a raft of weapons for me, some are pretty cool, but most are shot gun style, good for real close combat, but.... how often can you get real close to ur enemy.

I only have one unlock so far but I happen to choose the sniper rifle because it seemed a bit underpowered and shooting ppl in cockpits sounded like a LOT of fun. unfortunately I have not had success with that yet, but I have only used the weapon a couple times.

Still a little disappointed though. It's a huge heavy caliber sniper rifle, but people often still survive shots from it. In reality, I would imagine a kevlar vest would not stop a bullet of that caliber, but maybe I'm wrong.

Sorry, I don't always get patches downloaded for games I don't have.

Downloading this sucker right now, wow, 170Mb for a patch? Will upload to /files/bf2 folder shortly.

that would be the sweetest kill ever. we need a video of THAT! I'm sure we could set it up. I would not be a good choice to take the video shot though, my vid card just runs the game well on the lowest video settings in most areas.

The 50 BMG would go through kevlar as if it weren't even there. A hit in the center of mass would certainly be devastating, and not survivable.

Even if you could wear armor that would stop the 50, it would be simalar to being hot by a car.

A hit taken to an arm or leg might be survivable, but certainly not pretty.

At 2000 yards, the 50 BMG has more energy and velocity than a 44 magnum pistol round a point blank range.

It's one bad mojo, and I want one reaallll bad, but I can't afford one.

You folks in Kali can't buy them anymore.

lol I could never dream of owning one in Canada. god that would be sweet to try though. I work in the military with C9's (almost exactly the same as the M16) primarily, but have never fired a sniper rifle. I have had some interesting opportunities though, including a light and medium machine gun, m72 rocket launcher (bazooka for anti-personnel and no-armor vehicles), carl gustav (anti-tank gun very similar to what you see in BF2) and a really lame pistol.

I'm sure a few american civilians in this clan have fired more weapons than I have. ;)

I'm Canadian however, and have fired numerous guns. Anywhere from black powder, to full auto FN FAL.

Trick was, I used to be in a gun club when I was younger, and one member as it was, supplied guns for movies as "props".
