DOD Source

Post by Buzzed »

Okay what do you think. Had bugs on both my computers last night, finally got one to work. Played a couple of games but only on 1 map. The map was pretty constrictive and not a lot of areas to flank your enemies etc.
Even though I ended up with the most points on my team, so far my view 3 out of 10.

Makes me sorry I spent the $17.95 US.

yeah...

Although I approve of the changes to the weapons and the increased difficulty in aiming/firing them.. Overall DoD:S is leaving me asking why it took so long for Valve to release it and what the heck was the point.

Also, Buzzed once you learn some of the back alleys and whatnot in the maps you'll find the majority of the maps all have at least 3 or 4 paths you can take, giving options for flanking.

Yea it doesn't seem to have the qualitity. I did start finding some ways through houses, sneak up to the front and through a nade or 2, that is how i recieved most of my points. It just seems limited, not a wide open area like COD or even some of the CC maps. Again I played only on one map, maybe some of the others are different. Same poor quality in-game speaking.

I am sure it will be a lot more fun with our clan members playing, always is in any game.

I don't like the fact that it only has 4 maps and is missing some of the best maps from the original DOD.... ie, dod_charlie! ;)

Mmm Charlie is a great map!
So far, I like the game, but thats probably because I never really liked CoD a whole ton. I do have to admin though that it's alot harder to be a Kar whore in this one, but it pisses me off that they decided to take away the handgun and add a grenade launcher.

Now to prime a grenade as that class you have to shoot it and pick it back up, which takes forever and a year for the reload animation.
