COD Problem

Post by Buzzed »

HELP

On my new computer, COD starts up okay, but once in a game and usually within a minute, it locks up my computer solid. I cannot Control-Alt-Delete to get out or anything. I have to reset. This seems to be in UO version only as the standard COD seems to be okay.

Any ideas??

I updated my Radeon driver and played for a few minutes, seemed to work. Maybe that was the problem.

Updating your video card drivers would've been my first suggestion.
After that, make sure your video card has adequate cooling.

If it's still a problem, you can try reinstalling the game from scratch to rule out any corrupt files.

From there, I'd try swapping out your memory to make sure you don't have a bad stick.

Followed by your power supply to make sure it's supplying adequate power for your video card.

If it still persists - a 20lb sledge hammer should fix it.

That was my first thought, and good thing I know how to count to ten.

Thanks for all the ideas, seems to work okay now. I have updated the power supply. When I installed the new video card, I thought I had updated the driver accordingly, but I guess not.

Found the problem when I reloaded Steam and CS:S into my new comp. Steam stated I had an outdated driver and pointed my in the right direction. Seems to work perfect. I like that!

Now I just got to fix my DSL modem. Have to re-boot it almost once a night. Sorry Serp and Night, lost u both last night due to that and was too pissed to go through all the trouble to hook back up. BTW it was also midnight and momma.......
