btw, there are some seriously fast Civic's and Neon's out there.
Granted they may not put out the raw HP that a good ol big block will, but they also only have half the weight to push.
For the most part though, you're right, most of the people who brag about how fast their little ricer is, has never experienced a real V8.
Have you ever put that thing on a 1/4 mile to see what kind of times you get?
It requires premium fuel because its compression ratio is 9.4:1 with iron heads, so using regular fuel would result in detonation due to insufficient octane.
Of course there are SOME fast civics and neons, but generally they are far less streetable than my car if they can move as quickly. I was more referring to the common driver who talks to me though, not serious racers/modders. I love having a huge heavy car though, it feels different.
I have only been on the track once so far since the engine change, and only managed 13.3 @ 107mph in a quarter mile. I could'nt get any traction at all off the line with street tires, so that really killed the huge power I have in the low RPM range. I need to get some drag radials but can't afford them this year. I have not done any tuning, because I am still working on all kinds of details to make it run better, look better, etc before I worry about obtaining optimal performance.
I expect mid 12 second quarter mile will be fairly easy to achieve with the right tires and good weather. I will have to do some serious tuning and adjustment to go any faster than that.
