Anybody play? Personally, I like killing the massive and hard to kill monster from HL...and cooperatively (in my opinion) its just more fun... this makes it possible... If you haven't heard about it, you can read up at http://www.svencoop.com

Can you actually play HL1 in Sven? Or is it more of a multiplayer game with custom maps allowing you to kill CPU opponents?

Last time I played Sven, which was years and years ago, it was all custom maps pitting the players against the CPU monsters.

but I do recall playing some of the stock HL maps with some friends...

I'm soooo sleepy!

I found out last night that SvenCoOp CAN play the Single Player Maps in full CoOp support. It's too cool! They've added some monsters here and there and have tweaked the difficulty alot. A good team of players can blow through Half-Life levels pretty quick! I'm making myself a little SvenCoOp server on my home LAN to play with it a little more. And I'm having fun tweaking the settings giving myself more ammo and better guns early on to make the game a little interesting. You can even set higher values for head shots to the monsters! Too cool!

yeah - thats why i cant wait til svencoop2 comes out... so we can play hl2 maps - coop. that'll be awesome.

playing the hl1 maps is fun... i am just looking forward to playing hl2 maps..

well if you go through the available games in Steam, there is already a purchasable mod which allows coop in HL2. The question is, if it will work with the expansion pack. I did not want to shell out extra cash for that, when it should have been included in the original game.
