The Campquake Republic
A Multiplayer Millennium Manifesto

IX. Membership Enlistment

A. Individual Merit

1. The formation of the organization is undertaken to bring together individuals across great geographic, ethnic, cultural, economic and age divides to unite them under the chevron of clean gaming and organized fun. To accomplish this dream the evaluation of membership shall be based upon merit, responsibility and a Universal Code of Member Conduct.

a. The merit of current and potential membership is evaluated based upon individual progress toward need rather than entitlement based upon involvement. That one has been involved in the organization is more important than how long one has been doing it.

b. Individual responsibility is evaluated by demonstrated maturity in accepting collective maintenance over individual membership. That a member is responsible for their own actions, attendance or lack thereof, and of their own interest in affecting constructive collective change opposed to personal achievement(s). The good of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one, and to seek the collective improvement of the organization over personal glory is mature.

B. The Universal Code Of Members Conduct

1. The Universal Code of Member Conduct, also referred to as the Bushido Code, serves as a guiding light in dark situations while echoing personal merit and responsibility to a larger mission. The member on the front line is both gamer and ambassador in all public situations and must recognize he or she is involved in the organization, that they are responsible for the collective good, and that they will be evaluated by their peers. Members conduct themselves thus:

Clan Leadership (Veteran, Eagle, Talon.. etc ) can have the final say if necessary via currently established methods. Majority wins.

h. Membership may vote on the applicant removing the [camper] tag any time after 30 days of probation. Majority wins.

D. Applicant agrees with the email and responds back to the WRAITH they would like to proceed.

J. Applicant is officially welcomed into CotC by the acting clan leader, and given permission to remove the camper tag from their play name as well as their senate log in name. They have member status.

IV. Double-Secret Probation Status:

B. Probationary member will not have access to the private clan forum regarding applicants.

C. Probationary member can be terminated for cause - cause must be clear and convincing (e.g. clear violation of the UCCC) and there must be unanimous agreement between WRAITH, TALON and EAGLE for termination. Absent full consensus, simple majority vote of Senate for removal of probate from our ranks.

V. CotC Guidelines:

A. WRAITH will act as the new applicants advocates, providing them with activities and information needed to get them through their probation.

B. WRAITH will act as the strong arm if needed, carrying out any discipline or early termination set forth by the clans will.

C. WRAITH will plan one mandatory initiation event each applicant must attend. This should be a fun event so use your imagination. For Counterstrike an initiation scenario could include making them camp x number of levels, then just go find a good hiding place for x number of levels. But it will be to the discretion of the event planners to decide what the initiation will be.

D. WRAITH will initiate any votes called regarding applicants entrance or termination, till such time they achieve full member status.

E. Clan membership will freely discuss any concerns or problems regarding applicants in the secure forum set up for such matters.

F. Clan membership will vote on any early probation terminations.

G. Clan membership will make every effort to attend any initiation events.

H. Clan leadership will provide a secure private forum, for which all full clan members may freely discuss concerns of applicants with WRAITH and assistants. This private forum will also be used for all applicant voting.

J. Clan leadership will assist in recruiting WRAITH and assistants from membership (preferably from Combatant Legion) as needed to handle the flow of applicants.

K. All voting for applicants will be simple majority based on vote, run for 72 hours.

VI. Member Sponsorship Rules:

A. Any full CotC member may sponsor a friend to expedite clan status.

B. CotC members will provide the WRAITH names of pending sponsorships.

C. The WRAITH will maintain a list of sponsored applicants waiting to apply.

D. Applicant will still follow the initial sign up procedures, but once the WRAITH verifies sponsorship, they contact the sponsoring member as how to proceed.

E. The sponsoring member is now in control of the probation, they will instruct the WRAITH what items they would like skipped. It can be any or all items except for the clan vote, which the sponsor will also schedule.
