Got a new computer case, and setting up water cooling (pics)

Ok, almost there. This case is awesome, Enermax Uber Chakra. Huge, however, still does not quite fit the radiator on the inside. So I'm looking at mounting it externally on the back, taking cooling from the exhaust fan on the back of case. I have to figure out some way of having it approx. 1cm away from case and some way to bracket/strap it on the back. CPU block obviously not hooked up til this is done and filled with coolant. Running AMD 3700+ with 2Gb RAM, GeForce 6800GT vid card. May have some cash within the month, so may go buy new mobo, CPU, vid card, and a DVD-RW (finally). May get a front end monitoring system too, and hopefully for b-day, a 22" LCD monitor.

#1 Vaccuum
#2 New furniture

 heh jk. I dumped the old watering system I was using for a new fangled one.

The temperature is the same but now it's consistent and I never have to refill it. The old system started to get high blood pressure and low blood flow after getting too much cholesterol stuck in it's pipes. I had to give it a bypass before it died.

I've since moved to dual 8800GT's and there is no change in internal heat as their fans do just fine. I have to blast the dirt out of the case about once a month though... nasty dust. worst case I'll cool them too.

#1 Two kids, to cats, one dog.

#2 Wife chose the colour of that room. :P

Crazy, here I am happy with an "old school" water cooling system, and the new stuff they have out is pretty well done it seems. Won't be long, I'll be doing dual video cards as well etc...

Here it is, finished mounting rad and filled it up.

Aren't you cooling your PC with hot air from inside the case by putting the radiator there?

Well, yes, sort of, but is still air flow over the rad. If the rad was installed inside case, it would be circulating air within the case through it, so would be hotter that way. The air exhausting through the back via that fan, is quite cool actually. There's a 25cm fan on side of case, directed at CPU, pumping air in, plus one fan at front of case pumping air in. The two exhaust fans are the one at rad, and the one in power supply.

CPU was at 33 degrees celsius (90-91 farenheit) with no load.

That's large (just an opinion) radiator you have there! Will it cool your new GPU (if you get one?)

I guess as far as cooling the radiator goes, you're trading the heat that would be there circulating around the CPU and moving it in to the radiator. The way I see it, there isn't a better location for the radiator, unless you have some pod-mounted device totally separate from the case. (Also an opinion.) :)

That rad, after reading some water cooling reviews etc... on overclockers.com, was made for a water cooling system for a PC. :D It is large, yes. Also saw several pics of people's set ups that have their rad mounted in exact same way/location, so it should be ok. :)

My old was mounted the same way yours is, and my new one uses the same fan hole (just all on the inside now) no problems at all, just clean it regularly (dust)
