And to think in 1994 my brother in law thought I was insane for buying a 420 MB Hard drive "you'll never use that much space".... my cell phone has more storage than that HD did lol

Yes, after noting your post I did some peeking around the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. site.

The reviews too look good.

But what does a camper say about this game? I hear it's choppy but that the story line and intense feel of the game outweigh any issue?

Wow - I didn't know that it was released. It made a fairly large noise at E3 in what, '05? Then....

Impressions?

Wow. It feels like it needs a beefy machine to run, I have everything on max and it's like butter. You can get inside just about every building, the map is freaking huge and it's totally random.

Most games are like this:
- spawn
- kill 3 dudes on right
- get medpack from 4th box on left
- wait for 3rd dude to turn around
- throw frag
- win

This one, I cleared out a enemy camp. Then I went back to my base and got a new mission. As I was going back I heard shots from the camp area... the enemy had moved back in and was retaking it but some wild dogs were contsting the territory. When I came in and killed 2 dudes. another 2 had already died fighting wild boar. The dogs act like dogs too.. they will run at you then veer off to scare you out of their territory, only attacking when they have to... boar are a different story.

The map is big and it's slow moving but it's fluid and totally random. weather effects are random. The location of missions and militant enemies are the only constant , enemy bandits are random... freaking awesome.

I recommend it beause I can already tekll that when I finish it, playing it again WILL be a totally different game.
