Warf Jr. Sighting in his Remington Model 700 LSS Mountain rifle in 7mm-08



Good time had. Went hunting today with Warf Jr. He took his first shot at a deer today, but missed. He was shaking like a leaf on a tree. I had a blast!!!

Maybe I'm wrong, but are those first couple guns automatic?

They are Semi-Automatic AR-15s.

Automatic or (Select Fire) = One pull of trigger = more than one shot.

Semi-Auto = One pull of trigger = only one shot.

Semi-autos look evil and mean. But certainly not the most deadly weapon in the picture. THey are fun to shoot and accessorize.

They were "Banned" temporarily by the crime control act of 1994, which sunsetted in 2004. Called Semi-Automatic assault weapons (a misnomer to make them seem scary). I like to call them Sport-Utility weapons.

In fact the OD Green one in the picture was not considered a Semi-Automatic Assualt rifle, but the black one is/was, even though they fire the same round, and have the same capacity.

Uh, I didn't see any people in the picture, so I don't see how wood, metal and plastic can be any more deadly than the car that sitting at home in my garage.

It's people who do evil, not the tool those people use.

Yep, I'm with you on this. My badly phrased point was that the gun banners would have you beleive that the "evil blakc rifles" somehow wreak more death and destruction than the "Nice deer rifles".

Not that I would want to get hit with either, but a hit from the 300 Rem Ultra Mag would be a lot worse than the 5.56 from the evil black rifle.
