Portuguese Translation: Brazil again....

Here I am, ok so far in Brazil. Interesting trip... Left home about 2 am to drive to Detroit Airport, flew out around 7:40, after we went through extensive searches thx to the threat of terrorists in jolly good england... just had to happen the very same day........ grrrr!!!! Well, that all dealt with, we arrived in Miami around 10, made our connection at 12, and landed in Sao Paulo, Brazil at about 11 pm local time (1 hour ahead of east coasters).

And here I am, situated in my aunt's PENTHOUSE SUITE APPARTMENT with high speed internet on this laptop they have in the room I'm sleeping in... it's all good, could be better if this laptop could handle any games at all... not to mention I didn't bring any with me .... except for one....

Seems like things are crazy here already for me... some girl I met once two years ago at my cousin's wedding is after me... my aunt broke her arm, among the many other different problems she has (like 4 or 5 of them ).... and everybody here seems to have some sort of disease (one has flu, one has a cold, one of my nieces has chicken pox, the other the flu also). So far I'm virus free... lets see how long that'll last. I'll let you know if anything changes... maybe one of the laptops around here can handle maple story... since I brought that, and only that.....? Tommorrow we'll be driving off to visit my two half-sisters and "nephews", i'm not sure what you call the children of half sisters.... half nephews?

Oh and get this. This sunday is FATHER'S DAY here in Brazil, so we'll be off celebrating that at a CHURASCERIA!!! Go look them up, all you can eat meat buffet! They're all over the US, 6 in chicago alone! GO FIND SOME NEAR YOU!!! And while you're at it, if you want to get into the Brazilian spirit, celebrate Father's Day AGAIN this sunday, along with the rest of us!! I'm outta here for now, bbl!!

Enjoy the churrascaria, it is my favorite meal in Brazil! It is a meat lovers parradise!

Also, I love the caipirinha -Cachaça, sugar cane, lime juice and ice. Yummy.

Brazil is full of friendly people. I visited factories Sao Paulo, Extrema. Vinhedo, and Ouro FIno. Ouro Fino was in the middle of reakin nowhere.

Well KD, I'll see what info I can dig up on the streets about these spykidz...

Things are well around here, nothing out of the norm, just the usual gang fights, shootings, and vandalism/bombings that happen regularly around the city, you know. Apparently some power plant was bombed yesterday and a section of Sao Paulo went without power... us not included. Otherwise things are pretty peachy.

Warf, been to 2 churrascariasa already since I've been here, can't stand the sight of food anymore... and caipirinha is just too strong for my taste. My uncle made a fruit caipirinha, the usual stuff with a blend of some fruit juice in there too, tasted a lot better, but still pretty strong stuff.

Man I hate Brazilian roads... the biggest mess I've ever seen, of mountainous hills, bad roads, no lines on the ground, speed bumps too high that completely wreck the bottom of your car as you pass over them, and the worst/best drivers in the world (worst b/c they're willing to kill you just to have the right of way, best b/c they haven't caused a 50 car pile-up yet). These people will make three lanes where there should only be one, and the people on motorcycles still demand you to move over so they can pass in between the cars.

Saw 6 accidents on the way back to our appartment last night... and then as we were crossing a bridge we got "blitzed" by the local authorities (they basically shut the road into a one car lane and screen ever car that passes, with flashlights in your face and heavy weaponry, like REALLY heavy weaponry, pointed right at you as you pass). Crazy crap going down here. Did I mention my relatives were crazy too? Yeah they're crazy, in many many ways. I wonder if I can steal some pictures from my dad's digital camera....

Oh man... I think I'm gonna croak from all the second hand smoking around here

Weekend long, internet-less, relative visiting, sightseeing trip.... Add a car with a broken radiator requiring us to stop every 10-20 miles to refill the radiator on water, plus a burned hand from an overheated radiator cap that exploded, lots of rain, and to top it off.... my aunt's dog ran away...

Otherwise, I did some XBox360 racing, got my @$$ handed to me at soccer games by numerous cousins, saw the beaches, and watched a pitbull showoff it's skills of jumping off the wall really high to get a stick, and holding onto the stick for dear life as it was swung around like a propellor.... Oh, and 39329879385 cats that my other aunt owns were kind of cool.... Also got to drink some "Sange de Boi", a very sweet, dark, strong, red wine that was pretty good (we had the whole bottle!). Litteral translation: Bull's Blood.

What a weekend!!!!

Video games are very interesting in this country... You can either dish out an average of 200 reias ($100) to buy just about any game that exists, some go up to 300 reias (about $150), or you can do what I did and go to the street markets and buy copied/pirated games for 10 reias (less than $5)... lol, if this copy works, I'll have my own copy of Battlefield 2, and it cost me less than 5 bucks!!! pwnd

Dallas can be a hard airport to go through sometimes. I've been there a few times. It took a while to transfer, and it wasn't because of a long layover.

Also it was hot. Really hot. Thank goodness for air-conditioning. I dont know how you texans deal with that hot weather, but i commend you for it.
