What is Half-Life 2 - Episode 1?

Apparently it's the first in a series of games that tell the story of what happens in City 17 after Half-Life 2 ends. And it looks like the girl Alex is a major character in the game. I can only guess since I've only seen the 1:13 minute trailer.

You are still Gordon, and Alyx has always been a part of the story in HL2.. well, with this, she is MORE of a character.. they (Valve) are using this means to bring out more about her, such as background, complexity to her character, etc.. and there are to be several episodes, I guess, between HL2 and HL3... but who knows...

Wow. It' looks pretty awsome.

I havn't played either the first or second half life entirely, but from what i've played, this new one should be pretty cool.

crap thier goes another bunch of nights. I sure enjoyed the first HL2 though.

I already 'pre-loaded' it.. now to eventually pay for it so I can play it when it is released.

Pre-loaded as well and am waiting with abated breath....

I stayed up til 1, hoping they would release it on Steam at 12, but no such luck...and here we are after 9am, and still nothing... I wonder when it will be released....after all, today *IS* June 1st...

Yeah, it is released. I'm decrypting the files now. They released it at 10:00 AM today. I had to log out of Steam, then back in to start decrypting the files.

ya.........it was around 10 or so....and I decrypted and started playing at 10-ish...around a quarter past I think....and have been playing it off and on since then. lol....pretty cool so far....and ya, as noted - Alyx sticks with you the whole time (well, 99% of the time) - and she is a good shot, too. rofl

Just finished ... talk about an ending ... I am not sure what I am pissed at more -- the way this episode ended, or the fact that there is going to be no more to the story for a while. heh.. Gotta wonder - are Gordon and Alyx dead or what? ..and how slow was that train to be caught by the blast.. or is it just that the blast was so massive it expanded fast? heh..

Also - gotta love the good doctor for broadcasting such an out-of-character type of message for him. lol.. lets repopulate the planet. heheh

Maybe I was hanging out with Alex to long, but I also expected a little more length! heh! That was about half of what I had honestly expected.

But, I'm glad that I took advantage of the 10% off by buying before July 1st. At least I know what happened to Alex. Before we got blown up again. And I got to learn that that City 17's citizens could screw for the whole 30 minutes that we escaped though the game. Dr. Klien's message was funny! I was thinking, buck-yeah!!! Break out into orgy people! Darn game... Kept it clean there. But now the place is certainly toasted. I hope Barney made it with the civilians. And that thing Dr. Breen was talking too... It was in the Citidel? I thought it was on some other planet. Weird.

The way Kleiner was saying, hey, let's restart the species...and how attached he was to Lemar ... makes ya wonder if that old freak is into bestiality or not. heheheh ........also....once seeing his message in its entirity after coming into the daylight....why didnt we get a chance to have a little 'fun' with Alyx?

Short, though? Definately... I thought it would be a lot longer than it was.
