If you can afford any of these, i guess you can afford the insurance and the gas.

You may want a hybrid, especially after Israel or the States delivers a hello package to Iran, or they visit us first.

I had no idea you were so insecure about your 'manhood.' They are all sexy, but get a hybrid or something you can convert to bio. As a Honda Civic VX driver I mock all of the people who are so proud of their Gas guzzlers. I openly laughed at a lady in my office who drives an expedition and pays over $100 a week in gas! Even with these hikes I'm just over $20.

Gas is going up further. Demand is outpacing supply and there's not a damn thing our government (Left or Right) can do about it except force us to move to alt fuels. The best thing that can happen is to hit $100 a barrel. Then you'll see some action. Who to blame? Our congress over the last 30 years for not forcing eco change. Brazil did it in 10 years.
on the demand side, blame China and India for modernizing...
On the supply side (exporters)
#1 Saudia Arabia is already at maximum production.
#2 Russia is corrupt and is scaling back 5%.
#3 Norway is at Max.
#4 Iran is making things very unstable with their nuke program. (why do you need nuke energy when you are the #4 exporter inthe world?)
#5 Venezuela is corrupt and maxed
#6,7 UAE and Kuwait are maxed
#8 Nigeria for losing 25% of it's capacity to terrorism

And even though we are #3 in production for the world, we can't get more because the ecos won't let us drill and we can't speed up production because we are already running the refineries past 100%. And we also suck because we use 50% more than we make. but I digress, get the magnum wagon... those are sexy.

You could also blame Canada for being in the top 10 oil producers, but not exporting hardly any of it

We have so much of it we can't dig it up fast enough, theres a drilling machine every 5 miles around my house here.

Get a used car.

Get a VW diesel, a TDI. CARB does allow them to be sold in CA, but only the used ones.

50mpg rocks. Even with a lead foot, you can get 35mpg. Thats 700 mile/tank.

If you do mostly city driving, they rock in stoplight drags. Fuel is available everywhere tractor trailer rigs run the roads. (Everywhere)

If you're a greenie, the thing can be converted to run pure corn oil, or you can run biodiesel with no conversion necessary. You can make biodiesel at home from used fryer fat.

Buying new enriches the dealer and the finance company. Buying used means that you let somebody else enrich the dealer and the finance company.

The coolest car you could buy? A VW Jetta TDI station wagon. Why? Girls love it. I don't know why this is. Also, the rear seat folds down, in related news.

You know, I think I read somewhere that Canada is the US's second largest oil supplier, although the ammount they produce is still a lot less than the Saudi's.

China buys all our oil. lol

Acura RSX has 200 HP. Nice, saves on gas. Very safe car in crash tests too.

Nissan 350 Z has 300 HP in an 11 yr straight award winning VQ motor. Very nice! Buy you can only take 1 along with you.

GTO has 400 HP! OMG! But now you're paying at the pump for power you only use at a stop light.

Mustang GT has 300 HP. Sweet! Back seats are just big enough to fit a sandwich, not cool if you have any chance at making babies.

The Acura is a good pick here. But here's my suggestion (The one I made this January in fact!) Take a ride in a Maxima. It has the same VQ35 motor as the Z car, but tuned for better MPG and you can take 4 with you. It's comfortable with the motor never offering a hint of noise or vibration unlike the Acura. One might ask, is it even running? Acura feels too tight and bouncy for my tastes and it has grabby brakes. (This can be fun if you want to force your passengers to nod yes!)
