Im debating what to do with my hard earned cash... help me out.

Well... considering that you DON'T have a computer to game with in California, BUY A NEW COMPUTER to take with you there, or buy a new one there, at least one that can do some gaming. Otherwise... 360 isn't a bad choice b/c I know you want Oblivion and DoA 4... Revolution is really nice though, and so is that Zelda game... but that doesn't come out until the end of the year...

Everything you said Dark already went through my head for my own side of the decision.
As for your comment Scion, I'm not that loaded. If it was even remotely possible... make no mistake i would have all of the things on the list above.

yeah, that's always an option too.
college money is good to have. Although i have money that my parents and grand parents put away for college, i'd be good to have money to spend durring college years with out having to get a job (at least for the first year or two).
I could always buy a dell PC for CoD and Oblivion.

The way I see it, if you have money for a PC, then you have money for an Xbox plus the two games, and possibly even Revolution. College is still 60 - 120K and a long term expenditure. So a console system or video game now would be just a drop in the bucket compared to that.
The education is the best long term investment. With the PC as the best short term. The console systems are dedicated to entertainment, and are not an investment per se, but more of a relaxation tool.

Dark and i went over the specks a little last night, but what do you guys think a good solid gaming computer would cost. I'm not talking the best graphics card or the most expensive moniter. I'm looking for a low cost, yet good, gaming computer.
I know that's pretty hard to come by and i have to keep looking for special deals, but i was wondering if anyone has seen or head a good deal.

Neo's guestimate on a lowend budget gaming PC using NewEgg prices:
Antec PERFORMANCE TX TX1050B Case W/500W PSU: $120
Abit KN8 Ultra (Retail): $89
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (1.8 Ghz 939) Boxed: $117
Corsair ValueRAM 1 GB (2x512): $72
eVGA GeForce 6800XT 256 PCI-Express x16: $119
Samsung 740B DVI 17" LCD Monitor: $226
Logitech Mx518 USB Mouse: $37
ViewSonic ViewMate KU-206 USB Keyboard: $11
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA (120 GB OEM): $69
Lite-On DVD/CD-RW Black IDE (OEM): $25
Total: $885
(Before ship and tax, buy what you can locally. Plan +$150 for those.)
Add a sound card later, and use onboard for now. Add on Windows XP and games when you win the lottery!
If you cut corners, start with the monitor, then mouse, then case/PSU... In that order. Then if it's still not low enough, you can try the refurb'ed motherboard. (same part number but $25 less) Most of the time a refurb is a working new MB, but someone had some "user error" trying to set it up!

TooLBlue, I did that for Oblivion! Of course I legally paid for the download, but now I dodn't have to fuss with having the DVD in the drive when I wanted to play the game. (And didn't pay tax or shipping!) For games that I know I'm going to like, or liked the demo, I don't have a problem with paying the developer their money deserved.
