Steam woes...

Post by Serpent »

Has anyone ever encountered this, and if so, how do you fix it?

I have steam installed....and all games are downloaded and they play fine, it seems.... BUT! --- when I open steam and it opens a window it opens an additional non-titled window as well... so if there are two titled windows, there are two non-titled windows... and i can't close them without closing the original window... so thats the catch. It only started happening when I installed on this new computer. I never had this problem on my old computer...

Ideas? Help???

is it the obligatory "steam update" window?

is there anything in the window?

Can't see a window...just a tab at the bottom that annoys to no end, and when you right click it down there to close...it wont... at least until you close the main window that spawned this 'zombie'-type window..

The only change I have made to my computer - which seems to fix this problem - is that I ditched the nvidia nforce firewall or whatever its called, that came w/ my nforce mobo... and went back to using zone alarm... which is (obviously) better since everything works great with it. hehe (including steam)
