Love your country, do not harm her
Serve others
Honor learning, don't be ignorant
Work hard, try your best
Help your friends and neighbors
Be honest, have integrity
Be self-disciplined
Be plain and simple and honest

Best Regards,
Hu Jintao,
President of the Chinese Communist Party

Data: My only point is, it may benefit us as human beings to
occasionally listen to what people are actually saying,
as opposed to what the media and talking heads tell us....

Do you think Jintao follows that?

I think he is trying to make a place for himself in history as a kind
of Confucian wise man. But you don't get to be leader of a large
country by practicing that kind of behavior; he is no doubt as
manipulative and ruthless as the rest of them.

I think that the advice works well for the common citizen.

Politicians are a class unto themselves, and the opinions they give rarely match their actions.

Machiavelli wrote a little on that subject.
