I heard about cotc through an acquaintance who I know through a local LAN Party message board. I have been playing on the multi-game server for a few days, and have met a few cotc members.

I have already pm'd for the vent server info, and hope to meet some more of you soon.

I confess I am not a sensational CS player, but I have been playing it on and off since the original early betas. I am a pretty social player, have been on a clan council for another game, and enjoy working on improving teamwork.

see you all soon.

Not only is Akira the Site Admin -- but hes the reason CotC still has a forum to chat in and a server to play on 10 years later!

Dunno what we'd do without him :D

I'm surprised to hear that (although happy). After looking over the main website, it's amazing how detailed and complete the website is. I've never seen a gaming clan with so much information and organization.

how many members are there now?

We peaked with approx. 50 or so members awhile back. Currently, due to different levels of member activity, I'd say (looking at roster #) seems to show 25 active out of 115 total. That total includes retired members etc..

No fake! That activity level is like what we had after 3 months of Quake 1 in the PTW days! But the total number is still impressive even though the bulk of our clan went on to get married, have babies, or just forgot to turn on their computers. They still contributed in many ways.

Hello Turque. Nice to meet you.

I'm always curious why people select the alias that they choose. So, how about yours? Is it inspired from the movie of the same name?

good question Neophyte. actually, I own a 79 Trans Am which has had a VERY extensive engine upgrade. I love the feeling of torque, which is generally only achieved by high cubic inch engines (mine is 462, a pontiac 455 engine block bored .30 over).

Horsepower is what is more commonly expressed these days, but is actually only a mathematical measurement of acceleration based on torque over a distance.

My engine was tested on a dyno and produced approx 430 hp and 440 torque, without being tuned as of yet.

sorry if that was longer than you were looking for, but I love my car and especially my engine. ;) You'll see when you see my avatar (have to get around to uploading that while at work).

Those are some impressive numbers! I'd love to see some pictures sometime.
I'd hate to see your monthly fuel costs though. lol
