That someone would hold a sign that says "Thank God for IEDs" at a soldier funeral.

The picture of the bastard draging the flag on the graound.

Serious ass kicking should ensue.

This guy, Fred Phelps, is an absolute nutcase.

God is righteous, not vindictive. He may not agree with a lifestyle, and in fact loathe it, but forgiveness is always near, just behind the door. For a group to believe this activity is Christlike is not only sad but obnoxious.

The other side of my thinking is where is my rifle. To protest at the place of a fallen hero is first in no way righteous, and second its an offense to their very freedom.

They will get sorted out in the end.

I do agree Aide.

Forgiveness can be just around the corner. However the action must be changed. Warf i do also agree that no human no matter their faults should be judged or mistreated as there is only One that does judge us in the end!

I guess it's a reasonable synthesis of social conservatism and the Calvinist ideal of "your lot in life is due to your standing in God's eyes."

"Reasonable" for very large values of reason.

When folks don't stand up to the Jerry Falwells in our midst (he claimed the attack on the WTC was due to all the homosexuals in our society), this is the harvest we reap. Sure, let's bag on the fags, because they're not like us. Before that, it was those darn darkies. And before that, divorced women. Chinamen, Irish, Italians...

None are favored by Gawd, so cast them into the pit...

The question is: do I risk jail time, and the lack of support to my family (my primary earthly responsibility) to go a club one of these losers senseless? Would I be able to stop before I saw the pinkish brain matter? I don't know. I do remember taking an oath to support the Constitution, and this is free speech. Hmmm, I wonder how they'd feel if I crashed into their house with my car...

No doubt about it, wackos exist across the political spectrum.
