America only recognizes single citizenship. If you have citizenshipSerpent wrote:huh? for what countries? when i looked into getting a passport a while back, and asked about citizenship in other countries, was told that you can only have citizenship concurrently in two countries at once...not three.D.A.R.K.[CotC] wrote:I've got triple citizenship!!
in another country and try to officially claim it here, you are in effect
renouncing your American citizenship and will be treated as such.
However, many other countries will recognize multiple citizenships,
so it can be an advantage when you travel to those countries.

In my text, replace "America" with "CotC" andSerpent wrote:Huh?Dataspel wrote:America only recognizes single citizenship. replace "citizenship" with "CotC membership".
Then you should get the meaning

Ralph has removed free health care and free education. He tries to make it look good by removing sales tax -- but then theres a hefty user fee on EVERY government service. It sucks -- I'm getting out ASAP.

Actually, Baron et al, I could care less about race, even if others do. As for the cultural diversity I am sick and tired of, it is that segment of a well intentioned plan gone wrong.
I am sick of having State laws and loopholes exploited. I could care less about multi-culturalism when the dominant thread that holds us together is unwoven and broken down. While I recognize Canada and the United States are interwoven by former wars, Detriot or Quebec fights, family ties, and the English Language, much very much is different here than there.
There is a trend to break down our American Culture, and replace it with a segmented schizophrenic tapestry. Each segment is valuable and important to the whole, but without unity its all for nothing in the end. That whole United we are Strong thingy, or "Out of many, One"...the sort of stuff that's on our money.
Be diverse inside one dominant culture. Be diverse in many cultures and you have none.
As for taxes, I am tired of paying these on just about everything when each day I go to work and deal directly with people who are in this country illegally. Because I must be diverse, I must offer these people who have not payed into the program the same services that those who have not payed into the program are entitled to. Eventually there will be no more funds for these sort of programs as the majority of those involved in these programs outweigh those that do pay taxes, and as a result services will eventually be scaled back.
On many levels this will long term not only affect my ability to work, but seriously impact the quality of the services that can be provided, or, in order to maintain the status quo additional money will be sought from some other source, like the money tree? Nah, my pocket.
So being diverse costs when its at the expense of the ignorant. We cant simply wish for things to work on automatic, we must in fact maintain some sort of infrastructure. This is kin to an ecosystem, except in this vein its a political ecosystem. The system stops working when part of the chain is broken and never repaired, and that's California right now. A train wreck waiting to happen, or perhaps a better analogy is that the wreck has happened, but its just being covered up.

Well its near impossible to define a "Canadian culture". We are rather a blend of all other cultures mixed together. Its a celebration of our differences and everyone is involved and enjoys it. Its all about learning from eachother, quite the experience when it works right.
Today I went for lunch with a couple ladies from work, they grew up in the Philipines. We went to a Japanese place and got some take out, and had a chat with the old Japanese fellow behind the counter. It was a hoot.
There is no breaking down of any culture though. We don't try to suppress any culture, instead we celebrate them all. And that celebration is what makes up "Canadian Culture".
Theres plenty room for us all here. Thats the best I can explain it.
