this crap is confusing... did you manage to find a tutorial page or something?
I think I managed to switch my account over, I uninstalled the SETI@home I was running and now I have BOINC installed with an added SETI@home project (I think I did that right!)
Anyways, now BOINC seems to use my CPU constantly whereas the old one would only use it when the Screensaver kicked in IIRC...

All of the BOINC settings are configured on the website, in your account preferences at
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/home.php You can set it be always on (at low priority though) or set it to wait til the computer has been idle for x minutes.
and then every instance of BOINC takes on the same settings.
Although I think you can have seperate settings for home or work computers and the like -- I havent fully explored that stuff yet
I like the fact that while the screensaver shows you whats going on, you dont need to run it at all for BOINC to start munching data in the background. I use a blank screensaver instead.

Hmm, I suppose that is kinda cool
seems like it takes forever to give you credit though!

So am I out of the loop here? This is new to me. Figuring out what or if I need to do anything?
My main issue is that my Seti account, I forgot the password, but it uses my
akira@campquake.com email address (which I don't have access to or is not set up for email).

I think I saw someplace in there where you can enter a new address...
But you probably need to know the password...

Yup, found that. Thought it was gonna be easy, but needs password to do so.

Confused now.
What programs should I be running? Which is the current? I know I have processed units but I am not registering on the new page?
What's up?

Same boat here. And I'm pretty sure I don't want to lose my 6000+ units completed by far. That better not start from scratch. Also, I'm still pumping out units and totals go to the old score page still.
I can't switch, as I forgot my password, and no way I'm losing my total to start a new account.

I think the 6000+ units you completed before will be considered Classic SETI@Home units, and you will start over with the BOINC units.
And it does take forever to receive any credit for the units you process with BOINC!
