All on the same spec'd systems nonetheless.
for price point the x800 is better, but speed was better on the 6800GT
X800 Pro, BTW.
If I'd have had the extra $100 or so, I'd have gone for the nVidia card. I still creamed my card budget, LOL.
It's a nice card, and I like the way it runs Doom.
Speaking of which - I have not been playing it much, and when I do, I clear a few rooms at a time before I get called away. It's kind of a drag to play it that way, but I get to savor the next few rooms. I like using the pistol long-distance on imps and spiders. Unmask, shoot, duck. The chain gun hasn't been used yet, and the neo-"pinkies" are two-shot shotgun kills, just like in the original Doom. I'd love to have the DB-shotty, I'll tell ya. The video disks and stuff I pick up are boring, but the "everything turns red, and you freeze in place when something really creepy is happening" thingy is cool.
I like the visual effects, and the ability to move stuff around. It makes for interesting replay when I move an exploding barrel to right where I know an imp's gonna pop out. Not having secret doors and stuff is weird. All in all, a kewl game.
