What's inside the orange box?

Post by Serpent »

Got it? Gonna get it? First impressions, though it has been out a week now..?

Tell all.

Personally... TF2 is awesome... Portal ..well, I had to cheat past a couple levels and am *still* not done yet... and HL2:EP2, haven't finished yet..but so far, pretty cool...

Holy crap. HL2, Cod4, Quake wars. Man the pocket book and marriage is going to suffer!

This is exciting.

I got it worse... Xbox 360 and Halo 3! I wanted to get the Orange Box, but the timing is off.

Wow! Portal was fun! I started it one afternoon and finished it within a couple hours. Fun puzzles and challenges abound!

Does anyone who has played through half life episodes 1 and 2 know if the portal story meshes with the half life story?

I haven't had a chance to play tf2 though yet. It looks really great though.

Question: Do you have it for the pc or 360? Because I know a few (of not more) of you have the 360.

There is some reference to Portal but nothing big.

FURTHER TOO::

I could have bought both the Orange box and Quake wars cheaper on steam than in the stores.

So I finished Portal, 19 maps in all. Took about 6 hours. At first I thought the game was just plain boring. I played last week a bit and got to map 3 and left it at that, did not seem too interesting. Last night at I figured I would go in and give it a try, as it is a little easier on my failing video card. I got into the game and could NOT quit till I was done (2 AM).

It just takes getting used to how the portals work and how you MUST use them properly to complete. Level 18 was the hardest.

One clue only for those that aren't done yet. Use height!

Any way. There is a really really neat song at the end. I had to listen to it twice! Would be a great song to add to a in game video that some of you have been making.

You can find the song on youtube if you want to hear it again (just so you don't have to play through again to hear it, though it's a fun enough game that it wouldn't necessarily be a bad option). I liked how Portal tied loosly into the Half Life game. I got through episode 1 and 2 the other day. Fun stuff! But I have a newfound hate for zombies! And headcrabs (which my friend told me sounded like a very nasty twisted VD.)... damn those head crabs!

How many of you play TF2?

yea just into HL2 episode 2 right now. Having mixed emotions on this one. I have loved all the HL2 episodes so far. Finally got into a good fire fight, which was over due in the game.

Still fun tho.
