Who's picking up Quake Wars?

QuakeWars was a fun Demo. I enjoyed it. Had to vote no to it however.
I won't pay full prices for an ad-supported game. Not unless *I* am the beneficiary of those ad's. If they want to kick some of that ad-driven profit back to me for my server's bandwidth bill or to acquire some better hardware, then I might change my mind. I don't like the name registration and the inflexibilities with-in which prevent you from using your current gamer name if it is all ready registered. I can't imagine that was the best / most efficient design for their registration database as to key it on a name. I can imagine that if they wanted some sort of identity protection system then perhaps a paid-for service could be employed to verify your name rather than limit the names from day 1.

Demo is pretty good. More times than not, the GDF wins, so I'm not sure how much balnce problem there is. The GDF rocket launcher takes are of a lot of those flying thingys.

Can't you feel our souls ignite
Shedding ever changing colours,
in the darkness of the fading night,
Like the river joins the ocean,
as the germ in a seed grows
We have finally been freed to get back home.

You have not been in a game with me yet then. I consistantly, on Valley, play as Strogg constructor and GDF doesn't have a chance in hell winning.
The second the match starts, I spawn, and I double back through the tunnel and set up an anti-vehicle deployment. Then usually set down a few mines at the end of the tunnel furthest from the GDF base.
I get into the Icarus and continue keeping the MCP at bay.

Sounds like a camper's game! Think I am going to check this one out.Akira wrote:You have not been in a game with me yet then. I consistantly, on Valley, play as Strogg constructor and GDF doesn't have a chance in hell winning.

OKAY ALL, Q4 JUST MIGHT BE THE GAME. LOTS OF ACTION ON THIS THREAD.
I JUST MIGHT DO THAT AND COD4.

A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week. A pint of sweat, saves a gallon of blood. No poor bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making other bastards die for their country.

So I down loaded the demo. Seems okay, and obviously on the Doom type platform. How many of us play any of the fps Doom type games???
My enthusiasm has waned and I sit on the fence for now.
