Battlefield 2

Post by (V)ayhe(V) »

Can I get some CotC reviews on this game. I almost picked it up today at Wal-Mart for $50. IT had Battlefield 2 and the expansion pack. Is it worth it or not?

Your thoughts on the matter could help. :?

There are several of us who play BF2 regularly, and I'm sure they will chime in.

I love the game, but I just don't have time to play much of anything anymore. From vehicles to flying machines to weaponry, this game has a mix of just about everything.

Maps are likewise expansive for the most part, and I think the graphics are good too. With many games like this, it helps to be in a group that are playing as a team trying to accomplish an objective. The game is all about the objectives, usually flags/control zones.

My favorite player model is the sniper with a deadly long range weapon, but the gun is not extremly effective long long range as it should be, so one needs to get closer. There is also the special forces dude which I think is cool as there are C4 charges, allowing you to blow up items in place, or wait for people to get in them, and then blow them up. There are also uses for roadside bombs, and you can even plant all your C4 around a flag area, and then wait for the enemy to come in a try to change the flag, then blow - and I like this approach of picking a flag to defend, place my C4, and the go to a hilltop or other lookout and just wait.

But for teamwork the special forces guy's C4 is best used blowing up radio towers/command trailor, tanks, and radar as well as enemy stationary artillery.

My pirated version I brough from Brazil has... issues... like someone else has my cd-key... so I need to change that. but the game... works pretty well, it's fun in a way, but it's really awkward.

The game rocks. I have all the expansions except the new one AF. The play is very different to CS:S IMO.

I also just hooked (V)opar up with a new G-card capable of playing BF2 so he should have the game soon.

Great game and graphics. I like SF version best.
