for example if u were 2 use most weapons u should have alrdy aimed around the area of the head so it'd dmg more when you shoot.

My advice would be to know you map, listen to sounds, and know who's around you on your team. If you know you're with Dark or Kd then let them go first, they always kill everything lol. No but in all seriousness know how many people from your team are around you, it's really all about paying atention to details. Also, don't reload after every firefight, if your mag has 22 shots left in it you're fine, it only takes 1 shot to kill someone anyways. Be confident in yourself and don't get discouraged after a death, learn from all of you mistakes because that's what mistakes are for. Some advance things would be knowing the damage you weapon can produce from a certain range and on a certain body part. Almost all weapons are a 1 hit kill for the head, so aim there. Don't waste money, which basiclly means you don't need to be buying 2 flashes, a frag, and a smoke if you're not using them ever round. Buy your weapon, ammo for it, and maybe a flash or two. Try and be as proactive as possible rather than reactive. If you act first then it cause the other person to have to make a descion, which will in turn make them have to think. Now thinking isn't a bad thing in CS:S, don't jsut go balls to the walls rush and just start shooting, but think quick, and by being proactive you'll have more time to think before you exicute. And last but definatly not least, practice, practice, practice. The more you play the better you'll get, it's inevidable.

Hmm.... where to start....

Sergent has some good tips. Uh... kind of lame just making me or KD run in first like human shields....

Definetely know the maps. Know every corner, every tunnel, every hallway, every entrance and exit, and how long it takes to get to each spot, from both sides of the map. My secret weapon that gets people all the time is sound. I don't know how people can play this game with like Screamo or heavy metal blaring into their ears. I prefer to play in complete silence, with just me and the footsteps everywhere. Usually when I get to an ambush corner I stop and wait to hear anything around me, then I continue, checking every corner with a quick glance to make sure nobody is waiting to get the drop on me.

Watch your radar often. If you know someone is around you, but they're not on your radar, more often than not it's someone from the other team, so you should turn around and shoot whoever it is that's walking nearby. If you're far away from everything (teammates and enemies), keep an eye on your radar and watch what happens. When you notice one of your teammates die, then you have a pretty good idea of where the other team is.

Stressing sound again. You can never stress that enough.

Here's a very useful trick for everybody: if someone throws a flashbang in the general area where you are, turn yourself around 180 degrees from the flashbang. This will significantly reduce the effect of the flashbang, only blurring your screening instead of turning it white. Saved my life many times.

Sound... enough said.

When it comes to using guns, I'm an extreme penny pincher... I sit for many rounds on end using just a deagle, and nothing else. I get more money every round then I spend on a deagle, ammo, and armor, so that's how I can rack up the money I need to buy bigger guns. It's also extremely accurate. A single shot anywhere near the head is a kill, regardless. Three shots anywhere else, max 4, will kill anyone else.

The AK: Lots of people claim this gun has magic bullets... I agree. This gun is very weird. The first 1-3 shots are accurate dead on, after that, they go everywhere. But if you get yourself in a firefight at close range... AIM AT THEIR LEGS!!! The bullets travel upwards from your crosshair, so aiming at their legs, or feet, has been known to give you headshots. Just aim low and you can beat them in a firefight.

What I like to do is cycle through all the weapons. I pick a gun, use it until I die, then I try another gun. I cycle through all the different weapons, getting practice with all of them and keeping my enemies off balance. I may be scouting one round, then I'll have a machine gun the next, followed by an auto sniper, then the popcorn SMG. Every single gun in the right hand can be utilized to defeat your opponent, you just gotta figure out for youself just how it works for you.

Sound

Aim for the head. Keep your aim at head level at all times. This minimizes the ammount of moving you have to do to aim at someone, since you only have to go left or right, instead of up and down with it. If you're stuck at a corner, and you keep popping in and out while shooting at someone, try this: Pop out, aim, shoot once, go back, but DON'T MOVE YOUR CROSSHAIR. Use just the strafe keys to move side to side and keep your aim in the exact same spot/direction. Then you can move out and begin shooting b/c you're already aimed at your opponent.

One thing I've seen work with some people is pre-firing. That's being very edge, and firing your gun before you turn every corner in case there are people around that corner. Sometimes it works, it saves time on reaction since you don't really have to react anymore. Also, if you know the map well enough, and you know the most common spots where people tend to hide, pop a few shots at them the moment they come into site, don't try to see if anyone is there. Take a few shots, then check. You've got tons of ammo and I've never come anywhere near close to using it all up in a single round.

Reloading... I feel... "unsafe" when I don't have a full clip on me. I have many times killed someone with the last bullet in a clip, and I thank all that is mighty and powerful that I still had that one bullet left at the end that finished him off. If I'm in heavy territory then I wait off on reloading until I can duck behind cover where it's safe. If you're in the middle of reloading and someone finds you, get into the habbit of quick switching. In case you still had ammo left in the clip when you began reloading, a quick switch will stop the reload and allow you to continue firing. This works also very well with the AWP and scout as you can eliminate the time it takes to cock the rifle again after every shot. HOWEVER, some servers have been known to ban this kind of act if they see it, so just be on your toes.

S.O.U.N.D.

Extra items: I RARELY EVER buy a flashbang... it's not something I use. I only use them if I pick one up from a dead guy. They can come in handy when you throw them around corners... but I'm not used to them. I just buy a grenade every round and chuck them at people once I've shot at them and duck behind a corner/cover. Really gets them.

I'm out of tips... darn

I'm pretty reliable as a meat shield if you need one! :)

My tip is to get good with a low cost handgun. If you're running low on primary ammo, or money for that matter, (this happens to me more than I would like) a solid skill with an inexpensive handgun can get you a few kills, and quite possibly, enough money to get a better weapon.

Also, the best counterpart to practice is learning geometry. I find that knowing your basic angles and the strength of your grenade toss can get you that nade kill you have been lusting after. I've seen someone in de_dust2 chuck a nade through the hole at bomb site b, only to have it ricochet off one of the boxes inside and roll out the door as he was walking in.

I guess that brings up the point again of knowing your levels.

But, when all else fails, just spray a target on my back and watch where the fire comes from.

if ur in close range i think you should always aim at the ground especially the p90, but if your gun is sumthing like a mp5 aim 4 their chest or neck.
