College really is ripping me apart

Post by D.A.R.K.[CotC] »

If it's not my wallet that's being emptied at an alarming rate, it's my brain that's running on severe overdrive... This is not good for me, and it's only the first day of classes  Not to mention all the trouble I keep having now and then... (like locking myself out of my dorm room for the entire night...) Someone needs to buy me a couch and send me it... b/c I need one. I lack a place to sit and relax (the beds are very high up off the ground and there is only about 6 inches of space inbetween the matress and the ceiling, not to mention a large metal pipe that goes through the room at the other end of the bed).

Bro, you're out of the routine that you're used to. That's all. Relax! In a month you'll become accustomed to the new objects and faces. And you'll be able to focus better in your classes when your environment isn't such an unfamiliar place. It takes time to adjust. You'll make it!

I locked myself out again, and got lost looking for the place to pick up my parking permit... and ended up at the school of music... Otherwise things are interesting...

O_o

Which is worse, locking yourself out of the car twice in a row at a gas station, or locking yourself out of the dorm on two different nights?

Nah, this is just your first experience at being truely responsible for your own destiny my young Padawan.

The trick to college, and in fact the rest of life is picking from all data only that which is necessary to proceed to the next step, to achive victory.

Everything else is interesting, but not critical to make the world go around. For me, I've finally discovered that everything is sauce, and my family is the goose.

College only develops these skills, and later you get to make decisions about scrapping 70% because only 30% is necessary to operate. It's the training that allows you to choose what 30% keeps things going...
