Eve Online

Post by roose »

Hey everyone. I'm from the dod days I was roosevelt from the clan GI then chrisreeves from CIB.

I hope everyone is doing good. I try to keep in contact with reaver a bit.

I wanted to post here and find if anyone has ever played eve online or heard about it? It is one of the most popular mmorpg games (http://www.eve-online.com official site) review (http://mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/setView/ ... adReview/0)

It's a space based game where you can build your character up and join other players in corps "like clans". You play in a persistant universe where everyone is playing on the same server, all interactable at the same time. There is so much to do, mining, pvp (player versus player), pve (player versus eve), production, trade, scamming, spying, espionage, thievery, etc. Just like real life (except the last stuff hopefully...lol).

i have been playing over a year already. I have a corp that I run. If anyone is interested, you can contact me at dod_reeves @ hotmail.com or in game my character is chrisreeves.

cya around and fly safe!

I saw that at Best Buy a few days ago... looked really cool, but the monthly fee games make me hesitate...

ya, i used to feel the same way until I played it. It is totally worth the money to me. Besides, there is a way to play without paying the money each month. See, people offer on the official forums, timecodes for in game money. That way, you can gahter the required "ISk" = in game money and never actually shell out your hard earned dollars.

A lot of people do that. I havent done that myself but I will be beginning in August. There is a 14 day trial you can get in order to test it out.

Heres a link to a trial code signup (https://secure.eve-online.com/ft/?aid=100378)

Baron and I checked out Eve a while back, did a free trial gig. It was pretty cool, a very unique way of doing an MMO. I think Baron got the hang of it better then I did, though...Was very very ...complicated. :D 8)

Wow. i checked out eve online a bit. It looks really cool.

But, for some reason, i have problems with MMORPG's.

1. I tend to suck at them.

2. They cost me more money than i currently have, or care to spend monthly. (cool idea with the collecting "timecodes" for getting time to play the game though. Could definetly help my money issue.)

3. I generally don't have enough time to warrent spending that much money on MMORPG's... which can explain #1 and #2.

Eve online looks great though. Some of the screen shots i saw reminded me of the game Homeworld. Did anyone ever play that?
