A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week. A pint of sweat, saves a gallon of blood. No poor bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making other bastards die for their country.

com'on Aide, you never lived when you were younger? Crap, I got into more stupid things that I would never even post here. All in good fun tho.Aide-de-Camp wrote:My wife likes to force me to watch this crap too.
I cringe at every one of these. For some I question their impulse control. For others I question their common sense.
When your young everything is rubber...including the brain.
PS, my brain is still rubber. hehe

At the age of 36, I took up mountain biking. I figured - ride my bike, in the woods, no big deal.Aide-de-Camp wrote:My wife likes to force me to watch this crap too.

My shoulder is just now getting better from a high-speed downhill crash in Feb. My riding partner laughed his @$$ off. The bastard.
Funny thing is, just about all of mountain-biking on any kind of interesting trail is dangerous in one way or another. I have to remind myself that I can't just go for broke when I feel the urge to let it all hang out. I guess I gots some impulse control, hmm?
Common sense? Well, stuff that's boring ain't fun. Sorta by definition, right? Sure, I could ride fire roads, and never get off of track that's gravelled and 12 feet wide, but that would be boring.
Sliding down rails and stairs without a full-faced helmet seems sorta st00pid to me, but I never have understood the neeed to skate, skateboard or bicycle like that. The stupid motorcycle stunts were very amusing, however.
I can't speak much, I just re-tore my deltiod tendon snowboarding up at Mammoth this past weekend. Hitting a rail of course...
I've done the mountain biking thing also, in fact I competed cross-country at one time, so I know all about those falls. I've even knocked myself out a couple times and woke up in the hospital with a wicked concussion. I used to skateboard, and both knees are about 85% scar tissue because of that. I surfed for a while when I lived in Hawaii, and did some damage to my spine from having a 15' wave close on me and pin me down for more than a minute.
I've even wakeboarded a few times - to me it's all fun! I mean after all, you only live once!
I guess I just look at doing those types of things in this way.
Adrenalin is better than any drug I've ever had, and it won't make me go broke either!

A really scary stunt is when you are under 5ft and play football with guys who are almost all 6'+.. You get the ball.. And the race is on
